For the West, Russia's invasion of Georgia raises these 3 concerns:
1)The invasion was illegal and immoral.
2)Europe's response has been wholly inadequate.

For the people living in the reality based community, this video raises these 3 concerns about the motives of the Heritage Foundation:
1)The invasion was legal and moral. Russia responded to an attack on it's citizens by Georgia.
2)Europe's response has been completely correct. The Heritage Foundation should not expect Europe to fight its wars for them.
3)The West should stop trying to start another Cold War by breaking its promise not to encircle Russia with NATO countries.

Another anti-european attempt of the heritage foundation to split europe and put us in harms way. Its people as you that contsantly provoke russia, destabilize the world and endanger me and my familly.
It was the "inadequat" response of europe that solved the crisis, while Putin laughed about Condi Rice and John McCain and the neo-imperialist heritage foundation knows that. Stop endangering europe!

500,000 Americans ... ( 3 months ago by skrillavilla)
500,000 Americans DIED saving Europe/Asia just over 60 years ago. Instead of critisizing America DAILY,Europe should wonder whether her nations would even exist if it were'nt for "evil America". America COULD have dismantled Germany, and left it for the vicious Soviets. It COULD have NOT given DECADES of financial aid to bring Germany from her kness following your European tour of 39-45.
I think nearly a ... ( 3 months ago by skrillavilla)
I think nearly a MILLION American lives in the past century show that the US is NOT anti-European. Its the EUROPEANS who should stop being anti-American. Imperialistic? Last time I checked America is the ONLY super power to never "invade" and "occupy" just for expansion. While Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Beligium, Netherlands, Russia, and MORE conquered and imperially expanded for CENTURIES. In fact, America is a product of European imperialism! Hypocrites.

I just feel, not as an American, but as a Canadian, that the "free" world should show more thanks for what America has done for us.
Get over yourselves Europe. If it were'nt for Americans you would all be speaking German. End of story.

9/11 1973 - the CIA overthrows the democratically elected President of Chile, Salvador Allende, and installs a facsist regime under Pinochet. Thousands get murdered by him.
1953 MI5 and CIA overthrow Irans democraticaly elected President Motasadeq and install the tyrant Pahlavi, whos troops torture political opposition.
The U.S. supported the Mudshahedin in Aghanistan, that became the Taliban. They supported Saddam Hussein in his agression against Iran, hundreds of thousands of people die.

1, 1492 onward - European empires kill tens of MILLIONS of native peoples in the Americas,Asia and Africa.
2,1933-45 - Nazi Germany begins a program of destruction killing 10 million Jews, Slavs, Homosexuals and other "undesirables". America steps in and saves MILLIONS of Europeans from Nazi tyranny at the cost of hundreds of thousands. America spares Germany.
4. 1945- 1991 Soviet Russia brutally occupies Eastern/Central Europe. American opens her borders, allowing millions of refuges in.

btw, "sweet" Michael Moore quote.
I think Chile, Iran and Afghanistan have no "useful" purpose in this argument. Its about Russia, and Europe. Not all over the Mid-east, S.America and Asia.
Its interesting that Europe has conquered/infiltrated/invaded EVERY one of those nations in the past...some centuries before America existed as a nation, but as an Imperial European Colony (of Britain)
Sure, what happened ... ( 3 months ago by 13otany13ay)
Sure, what happened in Chile, Iran and Afghanistan in the past 50 years is irrelevant. But what Europe di in the past hundred years counts.
See, skrillavilla, I dont argue about Europes crimes of the past, not one bit. And I also dont try to weigh Europes against Americas crimes.
The difference is, the overwhelming majority of europeans do not take pride in their crimes.
It's called a ... ( 3 months ago by skrillavilla)
It's called a counterpoint. If you use the point of America's "grim" past(first), then mentioning Europe's countless/worse crimes in the past 100 years is more than valid. Its hypocrisy to critisize America, when youre defending a continent with a FAR bloodier past. And most Americans dont even know about American action in Chile, Iran or Afghanistan. They dont "overwhelmingly" take pride in them. They take pride in their nation, just like Europeans, but not about "covert-action in Chile".
I think Communism, ... ( 3 months ago by skrillavilla)
I think Communism, Nazism, European Imperialism, Colonialism and Fascism (ALL European innovations) have had a FAR more profound impact on the world than Chile, Afghanistan or Iran's relationship with America. Tell me ONE thing that America is doing right now that Europe hasn't done in the past? Also, don't take "Heritage Foundation" TOO seriously, aside for a FEW, they are living in 1776. Russia is NOT innocent, as a German I'm sure you know. And Putin is slowly turning Russia back to the CCCP.
I still CANNOT see ... ( 3 months ago by skrillavilla)
I still CANNOT see how Europeans can be SO critical of the least imperialistic power in HISTORY, when they owe almost everything to the Yanks(including Russia/Germany)
As a Canadian I KNOW we would NOT exist if it werent for our neighbours. Why cant Europe see this?
For having the most powerful arsenal in history, Im hard-pressed to critisize America when we know what SO many other "powers" would do with such power. Iraq is not even a TASTE of what America COULD do. Yet they dont. AWFUL!

Lets not forget, it was our pals in Georgia who started it and then asked US if we wouldnt mind getting involved in World War III. Well, actually, I do mind. This is one war I think we can sit out. We were terrible winners of the Cold War and now we are facing Cold War II (history repeats). Instead, we need to stop the hysterical Russia bashing and double standards and work with our Russian friends to defeat Islamic Terrorism.
