I just love this tune. It makes me think about going out and picking up an ArmaLite AR-15. That way I can sing along while cradling My Little ArmaLite. Hell, I'm not even Irish. It's so sad Colt, Bushmaster and the dozen of other AR15 manufactures do not have a cute little ditty to go with their rifles. I received an ArmaLite catalog a few weeks ago. Man they look sweet. This tune reminds me of a song about a certain rifle during the Revolutionary War. I just can't remember it.

Correction Freddie...the original AR-15 was made by Eugene Stoner who was an employee of Armalite Division of Fairchild Aircraft. Fairchild needed money sol they sold the design to Colt. A few years later Stoner designed the AR-180,but by that time the US had flooded its allies with M-16's and of course the Soviets handed out AK-47's like candy on their end. As a result there was no real room in the arms market for the AR-180. Thats why there were so few produced.

Also Freddie the better Armalites were made in Costa Mesa and Howa,I'd steer clear of the Sterling made weapons. During the time period Sterling made them they suffered from Labor issues and they are generally considered of poorer quality. Ironically the Brits took the best parts of the AR-180,threw them away and used the bad parts to build the POS SA-80. In the states Colt chickened out...AR's still only for police use. And Mr. Obama will try to get the rest..

The m16 was designed by Eugene Stoner who was at the time employed by Armalite.
The song refers to the Armalite AR-18, not the M16 or AR15.
