Let them fall it's there fault since they canceled the EV1 all electric which could have been a big hit they didn't use Hybrid technology even with the US government giving research money while the Japanese used there own money. It's not because the company sucks just how its managed and there retarded decisions.

Ford CEO made $21 ... ( 1 month ago by preagnantflea)
Ford CEO made $21 million last year.Compared to other jobs where people risk their lives some for even 45k,that is insane.Coal miners, foundry workers, construction workers in 100 degree weather, firefighters, policemen for what 50-60k?They don't fly in private jets, limousines, fat vacations, bonuses, huge pensions, severance etc.The workers are overpaid and their pensions are ridiculous. They all lived fat.We are supposed to bail them out? They unions should be ashamed to ask!

Any bailout should ... ( 1 month ago by thoughtchallenge)
Any bailout should involve direct to consumer incentives and be industry wide, otherwise you will not be saving the dealers, suppliers, and others affected by inevitable layoffs. The market as a whole is down. A reasonable U.S. auto market for 2009 would be 15 million. Divide $30 billion by 15 million cars and you have $2000 in government incentives for every car sold in America, including foreign makes. Do the math. It's too much money to pay for shutting down plants.
GM wants a bail out ... ( 1 month ago by LastReplaySC)
GM wants a bail out hey?
I'd give it to them for a 100% guaranty the battery patents they kept from the market to be made public and a 100% usable electric (500 mile range for 4 people) car, inclusive solar home charge station within 2 years for under 10k USD. ... under a death penalty charge for killing humanity , environment with a 100 year old hydrocarbon's burning technology, just as a "fair make sure" insurance.

Niche, your comment sums up our domestic car makers problem: perception. You have no idea of current automotive quality ratings. Your contribution and knowledge are typlified by your sole contribution to youtube: Standing in line for Wrath of the Lich King World of Warcraf ---- what are you, 12 years old?
Bailoil or not GM ... ( 1 month ago by brainsboy)
Bailoil or not GM will be back in 3 months for more money. The unions are killing them!!!
Where else in the world can you be a 7th grade drop out and get a job making over 50,000$ a year.. BANKO is the only answer, and NO!! it wont force us into a depression, someone else will just buy them and its business as usual but without the unions.
All of the US auto ... ( 1 month ago by Baileygeep7)
All of the US auto manufacturers foreign divisions are doing fine, with let's assume, the same type management. So much for the management theory.
That brings us to the UAW.
I can't think of one company bankrupted by executive pay, but I can name 3 auto makers bankrupted by worker compensation.
GM's best project ... ( 1 month ago by mko51ss)
GM's best project the Volt has a range of 40 miles. If they had a battery with a range of 500 miles dont you think they would put that in the Volt. What kind of mentality is it to tell GM to make a home solar panel under penalty of death? Grow up your a tool.
Like WallStreet, ... ( 1 month ago by OldBenFranklin)
Like WallStreet, the auto industry crisis is a symptom of a much deeper root cause. The U.S. Congress is that root cause, and is solely responsible for the financial mess the U.S. is in, try as they have to obscure the fact! And now they have the arrogance to act as though they are going to be the big saviors of the country! With big media's help the two-faced bums in Congress have completely mislead us about the real source of the problem. Thieves, cutthroats and reprobates, all of them!
I love the way ... ( 1 month ago by OldBenFranklin)
I love the way Congress is trying to position itself as the savior in this mess. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The auto industry, like Wall Street are huge symptoms of a much deeper root cause. Congress is that root cause and is soley responsible for the financial mess our country is in today. The conniving bums in Congress have gone to great lengths to obscure that fact. Thieves, cutthroats and reprobates, the lot of them!

I have an idea: let's parcel GM out to the Class One railroads. If Norfolk Southern, CSX, BNSF, KCS, and Union Pacific can't come up with enough cash, let Ford and Chrysler take up the slack.
If they bail them ... ( 1 month ago by hgih71)
If they bail them out, next time around I will vote for the Communist Party of the United States and if they need a candidate, I will run for them. When is the U.S. government going to bail out people who don't have a job that pays 70 grands a year driving a forklift with a GED? When are they going to bail out people who do not have health insurance?
Why are you ... ( 4 weeks ago by TruthBehindComedy)
Why are you focusing on the factory worker? Sounds sort of envy-driven, maybe a bit jaded.
Labor in the car making cost breakdown is 10%, relative to over 25 executive who because they went to college for 4 years make $12-15million. You and many others seem to be fine with that.
Don't bail them out ... ( 3 weeks ago by jasper777777)
Don't bail them out- they failed for good reason. Let the rich CEOs put up their own money and bail it out if they think they are worth it.
