BULLSHITTTTTTTTTTTTT the guy in the enzo drives like a fucking twat..talk about short shifting. the enzo would kill it.
excellent ( 2 weeks ago by maksymolejniczak)

Sounds like the guy ... ( 2 weeks ago by hogger129)
Sounds like the guy in the Enzo has the gas down half throttle and isn't even hitting redline. The car has an 8200 redline and it didn't even sound close to that. To me it just seems like the Enzo should have won. Ferrari V12 vs. Mercedes V8. Ehh who knows. Those Mercedes keep getting faster every day.
Yeah well some BMWs ... ( 2 weeks ago by hogger129)
Yeah well some BMWs are slow as fuck. Certain others are fast. Like the M3, M5. The Z roadster ones like the Z3, Z4, Z8. I used to have a '95 Civic with a 1.6 sohc VTEC 4-cyl with 125hp and a cold air intake, factory exhaust and everything else. And I smoked a '96 BMW 318i convertible that had a 1.8-liter with a "claimed" 140hp and a K&N intake. I think 140hp was an overstatement. In fact it's probably closer to 115, 120. That guy talked so much shit that my Honda was slow and I smoked his ass.
Now I sold that and ... ( 2 weeks ago by hogger129)
Now I sold that and bought an '08 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 SE. It's pretty darn quick. 170hp, 177tq with a 6-speed Tiptronic. I can easily do 110, 120. Once I hit about 128, 130, it's electronically limited. I think I might buy a chip for it later or something to remove the speed limiter. I mean I can beat plenty of stuff out there with it. Most sport compact cars now adays are only 130, 140, 150hp. I beat these SVT craptours all the time. Cavaliers, Hondas, trucks n shit. VWs are quick now.
Yeah I think BMWs ... ( 1 week ago by Sssccirea7)
Yeah I think BMWs overclaim their performance fiqures, when in everyday reality it's not so incredible! If I told you the amount of times I've beaten any BMW model at traffic lights and motorways you'd say I was lying!! The reality is Alfa Romeo drivers are generally better drivers than BMW ones! Alfa drivers are real enthusiasts who take their cars to the limit, therefore their engines and suspension are designed to be thrashed and punished! To put it into perspective, I owned and drove an Alfa
Like I said, some ... ( 1 week ago by hogger129)
Like I said, some BMWs deserve the respect. Such as the M3, M5, the Z Roadsters are pretty cool too. Every car company has slow ass cars. Ford Contour, Chevrolet Cavalier or Cobalt, Dodge Neon, Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra. Just to name a few. And I'm strictly talking about the base models when I talk about those cars. Because I know that the Contour SVT, Cobalt SS, SRT-4, Civic SI, Sentra SE-R are all pretty decently fast.
Every car company ... ( 1 week ago by hogger129)
Every car company makes a shitty car once in awhile, whether it's BMW, Honda, Ford. I don't know very much about Alfa Romeo so maybe you've had pretty good experiences with them. All the Honda I've had have been excellent. I now have an '08 Jetta and it's a very reliable car. I've heard that Ford is getting better for reliability also. But you know the stories. Their are lemons no matter what make of car it is. That's the problem with mass-production. People take shortcuts. Hand-built is better.
-Romeo 164 3.0 V6 ... ( 1 week ago by Sssccirea7)
-Romeo 164 3.0 V6 cloverleaf on a tour of Europe holiday, and I beat every BMW, Mercedes you name it!! on my journey!! and I mean everyone!! In Italy on the Autosrada especially, it was simply sublime! the king! unbeatable! ( apart from other 164 drivers!!) I would see other 164 drivers doing 160mph! and thrashing other makes! Hogger129 if you want to discover a new level of driving I urge you, to go to Italy!! You'll be left speechless!! Italian Drivers are crazy!!but brilliant!!
Yeah I still ... ( 1 week ago by Sssccirea7)
Yeah I still respect BMW's especially models like the 330d 328i 540i M3, also the Alpinas!!But I don't have time for the base models and anything BMW under 2.0! I just think Alfa Romeo's deliver better performance for price/size ratio!
How can you be sure ... ( 1 week ago by bangonator)
How can you be sure who knows what else that merc has done to it, I own a little two litre Pulsar non turbo wit cams and stuff and i beat alot of turbo silvias and standard non sti wrxs so you can not judge a book by its cover!!!!
I agree with you on ... ( 1 week ago by fx76)
I agree with you on the point that you cant judge by its looks, but the guy in the enzo was short shiffting like crazy the enzo hits 8,500 rpm he ws hitting about 6. Its just the enzo has a( V12 660bhp )and the SLR engine carries around (626 bhp) and is heavier.
i don't believe on ... ( 1 week ago by Liboni85)

The SLR engine is ... ( 1 week ago by hogger129)
The SLR engine is in an SLK though, so the body is smaller and lighter than the SLR. But you're right. This guy in the Ferrari was shortshifting. I know that car will hit 8500 rpm too. It redlines at 8200 rpm. What does the SLR engine redline at? Most likely less. I think those new C65 AMGs are cool.
*Btw, it's 651hp to ... ( 1 week ago by hogger129)
*Btw, it's 651hp to be exact on the Enzo. 6.0-liter V12, which should out-torque the 5.4-liter V8 on the Mercedes. The Enzo has a higher redline. The SLR actually makes 617hp. It is supercharged, which helps a little. Stats show that the SLR can do 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. In an SLK body, probably even less. But idk. I still think if the Ferrari guy was trying, he would have won, but not by alot. It would have been extremely close.
**Ahh, sorry I ... ( 1 week ago by hogger129)
**Ahh, sorry I misread the article. It says 2003 models had 616hp. And the others were bumped up to 626. You're right. But it says maximum output is at 6500 rpm so you would think it couldn't hit more than like 7k rpm. Where the Ferrari could do 8500. Compared to other models, the SLR McLaren isn't that much faster than like the Porsche Carrera GT. Even the Murceilago beat it. I would give it to the Ferrari on the track and on the strip.
And I believe it's ... ( 1 week ago by hogger129)
And I believe it's actually called the C63 AMG not the C65. Still though, the C63 AMG is a damn sweet car. I also think it would have been a better race to pit the Enzo against like a Mercedes CLK AMG. The SLR is kind of a different type of exotic car.
Who said anything ... ( 1 week ago by bangonator)
Who said anything about the merc engine being stock?? For all we know it could be making over 700 hp plus or more quite easily!!!
But you are ... ( 1 week ago by bangonator)
But you are presuming that the merc is jus a standard engine, who knows he couldof moded the exhaust or put a different pully on the charger who knows how much power he is pulling, i dont see it being stated that it waas a standard merc. Plus ya the ferrari was short shifting but the merc was killing him from the word go by more then 2000 rpms worth. It was c u ferrari from the word go!!!
If you look at the ... ( 1 week ago by fx76)
If you look at the performance figures for the Enzo and the SLR i think there pretty much even 0-60 both around 3 sec's and 0-100 is around 7.5 and both will hit over 200mph. But it wouldnt suprise me if the merc engine has more torque which is more important then hp when it comes to a rolling start. your right as well about the ferrari beating it on a track and strip. Nice cars thou lol, beats my focus.
Well the Ferrari is ... ( 1 week ago by hogger129)
Well the Ferrari is a 6.0-liter V12. With 4 more cylinders and higher displacement than the 5.4 V8 in the SLR engine. Then again you have to remember the times from the Mercedes will be a little faster if the engine is in a lighter chassis such as the SLK one here. The only reason I think the Ferrari could take it is because he was only hitting 6k before shifting. That car can do 8500. It would have been much closer had the Enzo been trying.
