Actually those are the fastest current production cars. Ther are faster ones. McLaren F1, Mercedes CLK GTR, Lotec C1000, Pagani Zonda, Koenigsegg, Bugatti EB110, and unfortunately the Veyron too. Those are the fastest period. Not neccessarily in order mind you.

Right on. I agree 100 percent with you. The corvette is an over rated piece of shit next to anyth normal Ferrari racing today liek the 550. Put it next to the F40 or even better the Pagani and it would get FUBAR (Fucked UP BEYOND RECOGNITION) Fucking hicks can't admit when another country has a better car than the USA. The Vettes has a great bang for the buck performance but thats it.

While I love the Zonda and would choose it in a heartbeat over any Corvette if I had the opportunity, you're wrong here. The Z06 is a wicked fast car, handles very well and has done the ring in the same time frame as the Zonda.

Ok let me get this straight. You are saying a front engine $60,000 car is gonna keep up with a $500,000 mid engine super car. Not a chance. The Zonda 0 to 60 in 3.6 Corvette 3.9. Now those .2 sec make a huge difference off the line at those speeds. Just watch the Pagani beat the Murcielago and thats only .1 sec. As far as handling is concerned I think you are gravely mistaken. Watch the Zonda S set a 1.18 time on top gear. The vette can't touch that.

Thank you that is what I am trying to tell him but he thinks the Vette is that great. Don't get me wrong the vette is nice, but it couldn't handle an F40 around a track and the F40 would not beat a Zonda S (not F version) around the track. He is out of his mind for saying such things.

The Z06 is a mid-engined car, FYI. It is traction limited, whereas the Murcielago is AWD. The 'vette set a 1:21 time on Top Gear if memory serves. While I ALREADY SAID I would choose the Zonda in a heartbeat over the Z06 if I had the choice to make, saying that the Z06 does not in any way compare is highly disengenuous when in fact speaking strictly of track performance, it is not so far off the mark.

Dude I respect what you are saying completely but a car with a mid engine can only be in the mid/rear section not in the front because in technicality if the engien is in the front, you are still sitting mid because there is a still a trunk and such behind you. The Zonda has trunk, then you and engine, then transmission and exhaust system. In racing the vette has and will always be considered a front engine car. Besides 1 sec in racing is a big difference never mind 3 secs.

Whether it's "considered" a front-engined car or not doesn't matter, the Corvette has been a mid-engined car since 1997. The engine is behind the axles entirely and the car has roughly a 50/50 balance.
I agree that three seconds is significant, given the Zonda's much higher cost and higher horsepower rating, the Z06 did very well for itself. But to be sure, the Zonda is a better car... which for a supercar is actually damned impressive given most of them are only fast.

In my opinion the Pagani Zonda is the best current Super car. It is faster than any new one except the Bugatti which was designed ass backwards. They designed the aesthetics before they did the aerodynamics. That is the first biggest mistake for automotive design. But then again thats why I said it was the best and not the fastest. But lets not beat around the bush the best car ever was and still is the McLaren F1.

Honestly I'd take the Zonda over the F1. The F1 doesn't have the handling, I love the looks of everything in the Zonda as well as the sound of its motor. And I love the view that the Zonda has, you can see all around you. Wonderful car.

I fail to see how that has anything to do with the Pagani Zonda, and how I can truely believe that because you went to Porsche's driving school that it automatically makes you a paid racer. No, I *taught* a porsche driving school. Look up my profile for some racing videos of me. Regardless, the McLaren F1 had some glaring faults which make the Zonda a better performer in some ways. Tiff Needell ran across them and commented on them in a test (primarily being a disconcerting understeer, also present in the Ultima cars). Which is not to say that the F1 might not be the best supercar, but to me it isn't.
